He has many contributions to his credit, the most noteworthy being the introduction of Diligence Report by Reserve Bank of India in 2008 to be obtained from professionals preferably, Practising Company Secretaries, the said Report confirming adherence to statutory prescriptions in vogue by borrowing Companies in respect of multiple-banking arrangements by all commercial banks (Indian and Foreign) including urban co-operative banks and select all India Financial Institutions like Exim Bank of India, NABARD,SIDBI and National Housing Bank.
He was a member of the Council of ICSI from 2007 to 2010 and was re-elected for a four year term from 2011 to 2014 and is a member of various Committees of the Council.
He was also a member of the Core Group constituted by the Council in 2008 for formulating the Vision 2020 Document and contributed significantly in the evolution and development of Vision and Mission Statements of ICSI adopted by the Council in 2011.
Mr. Ananthasubramanian was the Chairman of ICSI-Centre For Corporate Governance Research & Training at Navi Mumbai from 2007 to 2009 and successfully spearheaded the turnaround of the Centre and its activities in a significant way. He continued to be a member of the Management Committee in 2010 and 2011.
As a member of Syllabus Review Committee in 2007 he contributed towards the development of the syllabus on 'Business Ethics, Corporate Governance and Sustainability' in the Professional Program. He has been re-nominated as a member of the Syllabus Review Committee constituted in 2011.
He was the Chairman of the Task Force on Training which introduced the New Training Structure from 2009 which provides for Student Induction Programme (SIP), Executive Development Programme (EDP), and Management Skills Orientation Programme (MSOP). He has been re-nominated as the Chairman of the Core Group in 2011 for reviewing the existing Training Structure and recommend changes required.
He was also the Chairman of the Core Group of the Capital Markets Committee, constituted in 2011, for formulation of Compliance Certificate for companies seeking listing on the SME platform of BSE and NSE.
Mr. Ananthasubramanian was the Chairman of the ICSI-WIRC Building Committee in 2009, which successfully made the acquisition of additional office space in Nariman Point, Mumbai.
Mr. Ananthasubramanian also piloted the Guidelines for Advertisement by Company Secretary in Practice in 2007. He has also been instrumental in the introduction of Networth Certificate by Practising Company Secretaries in respect of broking firms by BSE and NSE; formulation of Guidelines for Good Council Practices adopted by the Council in 2010; formulation of IPO/FPO Certification; tie-ups with Indian Institute of Management(IIM) Indore, Indian Institute of Banking and Finance(IIBF) and Insurance Institute of India(III), Mumbai and other similar initiatives.
A strong votary of good governance practices, Mr. Ananthasubramanian anchored the Special Debate on Corporate Governance during the National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance held in Mumbai in 2009. He has also attended the Training of Trainers programme organised by the Global Corporate Governance Forum.
Mr. Ananthasubramanian is a regular speaker in Seminars, Workshops, Conferences and his views and articles have appeared in leading newspapers in India.
