     The Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013)
        The Companies Act, 2013 was passed by the Lok Sabha on December 18, 2012 and by the Rajya Sabha on 8th August 2013. The Act received the assent of the President on the 29th August, 2013, replacing 56-year-old Companies Act, 1956.
        98 sections of this Act were notified on September 12, 2013 by Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). Section i.e. 135 relating to Corporate Social Responsibility and Schedule VII (amended) was notified on February 27, 2014 (to be effective from April 1, 2014). Around 200 sections and six schedules are notified by MCA on March 26, 2014.
        As the Preamble reads the Act consolidates and amends the law relating to companies.
