Q: Any Pass percentage is required to get admission to the Foundation Course?

Ans: A Pass in the +2 or its equivalent examination is eligible for admission. No restriction with regard to minimum percentage of marks for seeking admission being a distant learning programme.

Can A student pursue any other academic course while pursuing the CS Course ?

Ans.: Yes, the Institute has no objection if you pursue any other course while being our student.

How the student can get his query resolved, if the place where the student resides does not have a Regional Office/Chapter?

Ans.: Students are welcome to contact the ICSI Headquarters for seeking any academic and administrative guidance.

How to obtain a De-Novo Registration ?

Ans.: By making an Registration De-Novo application in the prescribed format appended in the Handbook.  It can also be obtained from the Institute’s offices. The guidelines for seeking Registration De-Novo are hosted in the Website and these are printed in the Student Company Secretary bulletin every now and then.

What is the qualification for a non-resident student for getting registration to the Course?

Ans.: Non-resident students residing in India can pursue the CS course like other students in India. The candidates staying abroad can also pursue the Cs course for which additional postal charges are required to be remitted. These are varying from country to country. The candidates possessing the recognized qualifications are eligible to pursue the CS Course.  The Institute determines the qualifications and recognition of foreign qualifications with the assistance of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.  The candidates possessing the foreign degree should invariably seek the recognition of their qualifications  from the authorities concerned and submit the documentary evidence in support for expediting the decision and further follow up action.

Ans: Yes, The student may avail the facility of Oral Tuition Classes being conducted by Regional Councils & Chapters on optional basis.  The students opting to undergo oral coaching are required to pay the prescribed oral tuitioin fee to the oral tuition center besides the usual registration charges.

 

Q: Whether Submission of Response is Compulsory?

Ans: Yes,In case of undergoing Oral Coaching, submission of Response Sheets is exempted provided the student qualifies in the tests conducted by the coaching center and attendance record is satisfactory

 

Q: Whether Oral Coaching Facilities are available at Chennai for Foundation Course?

Ans: Yes, Almost all the regional councils/chapters are conducting  the oral coaching  classes.  Student may contact them for details/schedule.

Ans: 40% in the Compulsory Test Papers of each subject in case of Postal Coaching; 40% in two tests of each subject and 75% attendance in case of Oral Coaching.

·        Filling up of the duplicate Identity Card proforma which can be obtained from the Institute’s offices and return therewith a passport size photograph  duly affixed and attested therein.

·        Making a payment of Rs. 50/- for issuing duplicate Identity Card by way of crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of ICSI payable at New Delhi.

Q.         What training is required to be undertaken by the students pursuing

Company Secretaryship Examination?

 

Ans.      A candidate who has passed the Final examination of the Institute         is

required to possess the practical experience and undergo practical training or be exempted therefrom to become eligible to Associate Membership of the Institute.


  

            The students are required to undergo the following trainings:

(i)                 5 days Training Orientation Programme (TOP) before commencement of training

(ii)               15 months training after passing the Intermediate Examination or Final Examination.

(iii)             3 months practical training after passing the Final examination for those who are exempted from undergoing 15 months training

(iv)             15 days Training with Registrar of Companies (ROC), Stock Exchange, financial or banking institution

(v)               15 days Secretarial Modular Training Programme (SMTP) after passing the Final Examination and completion of other Training requirement

The students can be exempted from training totally or partially depending on the practical experience possessed by them.

 

A student after passing the Final examination may enroll as ‘Licentiate ICSI’ at his option until he completes the training requirements.
