INVITATION TO THE 12th ICPSK ANNUAL SEMINAR – AUGUST 6 - 8, 2008, WHITESANDS HOTEL, MOMBASA, KENYA 

The Institute of the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya will be holding its 12th Annual Seminar on August 6-8, 2008  at the Whitesands  Resort, Mombasa in Kenya .  The  seminar is one of the  premier events  of the  Institute, which which  usually attracts  an  audience of  about 150  participants  who  work in various capacities both in the private and public sectors. They  include Company Secretaries, Lawyers,  Accountants,  General  Administrators, Managing Directors, Human Resources Managers, County and Town Clerks, among others.

The theme of this year's Seminar is “Vision 2030: The Role of Professionals”.

The topics to be discussed are: -

(i)                Preventing Corporate failures: The professionals' responsibility in good governance

(ii)               The evolving role of the Company Secretary: The global trends

(iii)              Intellectual Property Rights: Opportunities and Challenges

(iv)             Branding for excellence

(v)              Performance Management - The Balanced Scorecard for business Management.

(vi)             Business Expansion; Critical factors to consider

We have invited several distinguished local experts to lead discussions on each of the topics. It is expected that through presentations and discussions during the  seminar, the  Institute members,  international delegates  and the public at large will appreciate the magnitude and significance of the role of professionals in national affairs. 

The Hotel accommodation  for  a single room  on  full  board basis is  Kshs.  7,700 (About USD 118)  per night, while  seminar  fees  is Kshs. 14,000 (About USD 215). However, please note that the ICPSK will waive the seminar fees  for all the participants from your Country (India) and leave then to meet only their travel and accommodation costs.
