PROGRAMME CREDIT HOURS RELATING TO BLOCK OF THREE YEARS ENDING ON 31.12.2010

In accordance to the Guidelines for Compulsory Attendance of Professional Development Programmes by Members (ICSI Guideline No. 3 of November, 2007), which were notified and came into effect from January 1, 2008 every PCS is required to secure 12 Programme Credit Hours in one year or 40 Programme Credit Hours in a block of three years by attending approved learning programmes.

The Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India has decided that “The block of three years as per new notified guidelines is from 1.1.08 to 31.12.10 and accordingly every Member in Practice is hereby required to secure 12 Programme Credit Hours in one year or 40 Programme Credit Hours in a Block of three years by attendance of approved learning programmes.”

Since the current block of three years is coming to an end on 31.12.2010 all Members in Practice are advised to secure the required Programme Credit Hours by 31.12.2010.

Please note that the Guidelines do not allow carrying forward of Programme Credit Hours (PCH) i.e. the prescribed PCH need to be compulsorily obtained during the block of three years viz., January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010.
