PROGRAMME CREDIT HOURS
RELATING TO PREVIOUS BLOCK OF THREE YEARS EFFECTIVE FROM 1.4.2006
In accordance to the
Guidelines for Compulsory Attendance of Professional Development Programmes by Members,
which were notified and came into effect from January 1, 2008 every PCS
is required to secure 12 Programme Credit Hours in
one year or 40 Programme Credit Hours in a block of
three years by attending approved learning programmes.
As per earlier guidelines a PCS was to
secure 6 programme credit hours in a year or 20 programme credit hours for a block of three years. However effective from 1st
April, 2007, it was mandatory for all PCS to secure 12 Program Credit Hours
(PCH) in a year or 40 Program Credit Hours in a block of 3 years by attending
approved learning programes.
The Council of the Institute of Company
Secretaries of India has decided that “The block of three years as per new
notified guidelines is from 1.1.08 to 31.12.10 and accordingly every Member in
Practice is thereby required to secure 12 Programme
Credit Hours in one year or 40 Programme Credit Hours
in a Block of three years by attendance of approved learning programmes.
The Council further decided that the Members who were practicing
prior to 1.1.2008 had to secure 6 programme credit
hours for the period 1.4.06 to 31.3.07 (one year) and 9 programme
credit hours for the period 1.4.07 to 31.12.07 ( 9 months ) as per earlier
guidelines.”
